I am sad.
My iPod was working fine earlier today - I turned it on, saw all my songs in there, listened to a couple, and then decided to put on some songs I got yesterday and to make a couple playlists. So I went into iTunes, made the playlists and tweaked a few tags, and then hooked up the iPod so I could sync it.
"This iPod is corrupted. Try disconnecting and reconnecting or restore."
Um... hm. What? Weird. I hit eject, it said OK to disconnect, I did so, and everything still looked fine to me. All my music was still on it and still played fine... deciding it was a fluke, I hooked it back up to the computer again. This time, iTunes crashed and the iPod disconnected itself. Odd. When I disconnected and tried turning it on, it just said "restore this iPod" in about five different languages. Okaaay that's bad. I tried connecting it a few more times, but each was the same - iTunes would crash and the iPod would eject. So I decided to ask Google! Google'll know what to do! All I could find was the suggestion that if you need to restore the iPod and iTunes isn't accessible for whatever reason, you can format it from My Computer. So I tried that.
And halfway through, the iPod disconnected itself again for no good reason except to hate me. WELL FUCKNUGGETS.
However, the iPod still acted like it'd been restored - I turned it on, it asked for the language, then went to the menu and displayed no songs. I thought maybe everything was OK. iTunes could see it now, after all. So I hit "sync" and it seemed to be going well - until somewhere in the D's artist wise, when it suddenly decided that hey, guess what, we actually CAN'T update this iPod, har har! I unhooked it and it DID update a little, but stopped in the A's. So why it went up to D in iTunes proper is anyone's guess... I restored it through iTunes and tried syncing again, but it did the same thing. This time iTunes went all the way through my library before finally deciding that OH WAIT I LIED WE ONLY ADDED A FEW OF THE A ARTISTS. I Googled the error, "cannot find required file", and found some just LOVELY news - that if restoring doesn't fix that problem, then the iPod's drive probably fried. Super.
I don't know if that was the initial problem or if the formatting broke it, but either way... AAAAGH ;~; I want my iPod back. I r sad. I GUESS Christmas is coming, kinda, but it's still two months away and besides, I've had my eye on the Red vs. Blue: Blood Gulch Chronicles box set. I don't feel right asking for that sweet box of deliciousness AND an iPod. Oh what to do what to do... I don't wanna wait two months for an iPod, I don't wanna forfeit that DVD set, and I'm too broke to buy myself a new iPod. Nnngh. *sobsob*
In LIGHTER news... something I find kinda funny. You know how I said a friend finally managed to get me into Red vs. Blue after about two years of trying (it may sound obnoxious, but trust me, I'm glad he kept pushing it)? Well, last night, he mentioned out of really nowhere that he saw a couple of the first episodes of Catscratch during its original run and kinda liked it, but didn't remember much and besides that was years ago, and he knows I love it to death so he wants to try again, didn't I put up a site with streams for all the episodes, what was the link again? I sent it over, and he watched straight through to the beginning of Mr. Pickles before he ran out of time on MegaVideo and expressed an intention to watch more later. Trust me, for him, this is a big freaking deal, because he admits that he can get a little close-minded about things. He tries not to be, especially since it almost cost him his RvB craziness, but... well, it's how he is. Point is, I've lured in yet another Catscratch fan. This fandom won't let me leave, will it? XD Granted, he's not really a fandom type, he'll likely watch the entire series, add a bunch of quotes to his large bank, and never bother with the fanwork, but STILL. Every time my interest begins drifting, something happens and I just can't leave. Fun. ^-^
I MIGHT be going to grandmom's tomorrow... in which case, I'm gonna try to finish SOMETHING. Doubtful it'll be WTTA, doubtful it'll even be something I can put up just yet, but... something. I can't let this fandom leave me yet, there's so many ideas I need to rip out of my brain!
So, yeah. One awful thing, one neat thing. I guess we've broken even.
I've got a meme to do, but I'm still trying desperately to play Frankenstein with my iPod. So later.

And THAT. lol. It fits Gordon pretty good without the "baby girl", "Single mom", and "loves her kids" thing. Mostly just the "Gentle hands and the heart of a fighter." that fits him.
